    • Occupational therapists provide training in the use of adaptive techniques and assistive devices to aid in activities of daily living (ADLs) and enhance mobility, including wheelchairs, transfer aids, and adaptive utensils.
  • Mobility and Transfers:
    • Occupational therapy focuses on mobility training, teaching safe and efficient techniques for transfers, wheelchair mobility, and positioning to enhance accessibility and reduce the risk of complications.
  • Muscle Strengthening and Coordination:
    • Therapists design exercises to strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and maintain range of motion, which is vital for functional mobility and preventing secondary complications.
  • Pain Management and Relief:
    • Occupational therapy incorporates techniques to manage and alleviate pain associated with spinal cord injuries, such as proper positioning, stretching, and relaxation exercises.
  • Home and Environmental Modifications:
    • Occupational therapists assess the home environment and recommend modifications to enhance accessibility and safety, ensuring a supportive living space for individuals with spinal cord injuries.
  • Cognitive and Psychological Support:
    • Occupational therapy addresses cognitive challenges and offers psychological support to help individuals cope with the emotional and mental aspects of living with a spinal cord injury.
  • Community Reintegration:
    • Occupational therapists assist in community reintegration by providing training and strategies to navigate public spaces, use transportation, and participate in recreational and social activities.
  • Educational and Vocational Support:
    • Occupational therapy helps individuals with spinal cord injuries in pursuing education and vocational goals, providing support to engage in productive activities and maintain an active lifestyle.
  • Wheelchair Seating and Positioning:
    • Occupational therapists assess and recommend appropriate wheelchair seating and positioning solutions to prevent pressure sores, enhance comfort, and improve posture.
  • Assistive Technology and Communication Aids:
    • Occupational therapy includes training on using assistive technologies and communication aids to improve communication, access information, and engage with the environment effectively.

Occupational therapy plays a crucial role in maximizing functional abilities, enhancing quality of life, and promoting independence for individuals living with spinal cord injuries.

My experience with bridges speech centre has been great. My child is attending OT in the center and we are happy and proud with the progress Mrs. Richa has made. The therapists are very supportive and knowledgable in selecting techniques to suit with our child's requirements . Their monthly review and evaluation is remarkable. I highly recommend bridges speech centre to anyone looking for an affordable and professional therapy for their child....

We were asked to consult a speech therapist for my son. As parents we were quite skeptical about this whole process. However, once my son started attending Dr Rupali’s sessions we noticed a drastic improvement in his speech. He used to speak only a few words but within the 1st four sessions he started speaking up-to 5 words sentences. I also learnt to manage my child’s emotions better with Dr Rupali’s guidance. She is very cooperative and patiently answer all questions.

We took our 21 month old daughter to Bridges speech center following her cleft palate surgery as she needed Speech therapy. Ms.Rupali was recommended to us by both our Pediatrician and ENT specialist. The staff at Bridges are qualified, warm and friendly. My daughter loved to attend the speech therapy sessions. Through various techniques and simulations provided during these sessions, I can see considerable improvement in my daughter's speech. Lastly I would say, no child is same, as parents we need to be patient and trust the process.
